1 ¼ cups light brown sugar, divided
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened, divided
¼ cup granulated sugar
3 large eggs large eggs
3 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
2 ¼ cups white whole-wheat flour, divided
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon, divided
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup plain whole-milk Greek yogurt
2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into 1/2-inch cubes (about 3 cups)
½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
¼ cup chopped pecans
½ cup confectioners' sugar
1 tablespoon whole milk
Directions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9-inch-square baking dish (at least 2 1/4 inches deep) with baking spray.
Step 2
Combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup butter and granulated sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating on low speed just until blended after each addition. Add 2 teaspoons vanilla; beat on low until blended.
Step 3
Whisk 1 3/4 cups flour and 2 teaspoons cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add baking soda, baking powder and salt; whisk to combine. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture alternately with yogurt, beginning and ending with the flour mixture and beating on low speed just until blended after each addition. Fold in apples.
Step 4
Combine oats, pecans and the remaining 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a medium bowl. Add the remaining 1/4 cup butter and use your fingers to work it into the mixture until blended and crumbly.
Step 5
Spread half the batter in an even layer in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with half the oat-pecan mixture. Spoon the remaining batter on top and spread it to the edges of the pan. Top with the remaining oat-pecan mixture.
Step 6
Bake until a wooden pick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean, 45 to 55 minutes. If necessary, loosely cover with foil after about 30 minutes to prevent excessive browning. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack for 15 minutes.
Step 7
Whisk confectioners' sugar, milk and the remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla in a small bowl until smooth. Drizzle over the warm cake. Serve warm, or cool completely, about 45 minutes. Cut into 16 squares.

How to Lose Weight Using Coffee!
There once was a man named Dr. Bob Arnot. This man was an incredible person. He came up with a diet meal plan to help lose weight by drinking coffee. On this plan that he had made, you would have to drink around 3 cups of coffee each day, or 720 mL. along with drinking that large amount of coffee, he says you should replace a single meal out of the day, does not matter what meal you choose, to replace the meal with a green smoothie. A green smoothie consists of mostly blended up vegetables and different fruit along with some milk to make it more liquid if you would like. Green smoothies can not only help you lose weight, but they can also help you get rid of all of the nasty toxins that your body might have picked up. They contain a lot of fiber and water which would speed up your metabolism as well as help your bowl movements. Along with the large amount of coffee and the green smoothie, Dr. Arnot says you should focus your daily meals on low fat, high fiber meals and snacks. According to Dr. Arnot, If you follow this meal plan for a minimum of 1 month, you should lose around 9 pounds. Also, Dr. Arnots "simple sample meal plan" consists of only about 1500 calories, much less than the average person consumes on a daily average.

Helping "Hard to Reach" Children
"Across the United States, one in five children grows up in poverty. Of the counties with the highest poverty rates, 90% are rural. Because of circumstances beyond their control, millions of kids never reach their full potential.
Since 1932, Save the Children has been on the ground providing support to the most isolated and underserved children in rural America. From our earliest days in Appalachia – helping children and families hardest-hit by the Great Depression – to today, our U.S. team goes where others cannot."
